Well, I know it's been a really long time since I have posted anything. Life has thrown a lot of curveballs my way, so work has been slow. I am happy to announce that I will (barring anything interfering) have the first book of the Magic series published on June 14th. I am also starting work on book 1 of the Under the Waves series in earnest, so I will be posting updates to that soon as well. In the meanwhile, enjoy a short excerpt from Magic Discovered.
As a child, she had never believed in faeries. The fairytales other children thrived on and dreamed of bored and confused her. That changed suddenly one summer day.
She was working in her garden on the day it happened. Being late summer that was usually where she would be found preparing the garden for the cold weather to come. She loved being outdoors, spending every moment she could there.
“Sarah Mitchell?” A man’s voice startled her from her daydreams. She was thinking about a large farm in the middle of nowhere, overflowing with flowers and plants, all grown by her.
As she turned around, she was surprised to see someone she hadn’t spoken to since she was young. “Edward, is that really you?” She smiled broadly at the man standing before her. “It’s been years. You haven’t changed a bit.”
He stood there looking no older than he had the last time she had seen him, nearly fifteen years before. His long blonde hair was tied back in a braid that fell to the center of his back. He was dressed professionally, wearing a grey designer suit. He was her aunt’s dearest friend and her lawyer.
He was pleased she recognized him and held his hand out to help her up from the ground. “It has been thirteen years.”
She laughed, “Tell me, how is Aunt Cat?”
His face dropped, sorrow filling his green eyes. “I am afraid that is why I am here Sarah. Catherine passed away last week.”
